Fred Allen and Nigel Grinnell collect there awards for 50 years playing skittles for the same team

The Rolling Pins.

 

Tony Meadows, Chairman, accompanied by Charmian Sheppard, Hon. Secretary, Tina Ashfield, Hon. Assistant Secretary,

Wendy Harris, Executive Committee Member and Phil Judge, Webmaster and Executive Committee Member gatecrashed

the Rolling Pins home game on Tuesday March 24th.to present two long service glasses and certificates to the Rolling Pins

members. Fred Allen and Nigel Grinnell - both of whom have been in the team for 50 years. Pittville Outcasts, their opposition

for the night were a tad startled to find the committee Members attending the game but soon joined in with the loud applause

for Fred and Nigel.

The presentations were made by Tony Meadows, Chairman of the Cheltenham Skittles League.

For being one of the Founder Members – and still playing, having accumulated 1,131 games by 12.12.14

Take Note he is now An elder Statesman of the Team.

Treasurer of the Rolling Pins since the 1997/98 Season.

He has seen a resurgence in his skittles form this season – possibly a second late flowering !!

Past ambitions a flattener off the copper.

Known to be late because of the difficulty getting the chickens in

(it was dark and he couldn’t find them !!)

Finally – he is a real Team Player and a great servant of The Club.

For being one of the Founder Members – and still playing having accumulated 1,278 games by 12.12.14.

Chairman of the Rolling Pins since the 1990/91 Season.

A fiercely competitive team player who is the conscience of the team keeping everyone honest about their performance, not sparing himself as he is his harshest critic.

Paranoid about correct front pin markings.

Hawkeyed front foot watcher – his maxim being " we don’t make the rules – we play by them "

Not forgetting he is a proud St. Peter’s boy.

Finally – he is a great servant of The Team.
