CHELTENHAM SKITTLE LEAGUE
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
STATEMENT
The Executive Committee are aware of comments appearing
on a Facebook Group complaining against their recent
disciplinary action against a specific team in the
League.
The Executive rarely comment on discipline cases and
their outcomes, but in this instance a comment is
necessary.
The Executive act for the benefit of all teams within
the league, and does so in a manner of honesty,
integrity and fairness.
The outcome letter which has been shared clearly shows
the thinking behind this decision, and the Executive
Committee are happy to confirm there was some
considerable time and effort investigating, and then
discussing the issue which had been raised.
No-one from the team concerned accepted the invitation
to attend the Committee meeting.
The final decision was not taken lightly, and it was
done so in the hope that this team would play within the
rules in future.
Skittles is a great game, the rules are there for
everyone to ensure the season runs smoothly and
enjoyably within a framework of competitive fairness,
but strong enough to pull teams up when they fall
outside of the rules in question.
