Executive Committee discussed numbers of players in teams at length having noted the comments which have come through social media, emails, and phone calls.

The majority of teams within the League are able to field 12 registered players on a weekly basis.

However, the Executive do accept the uncertainty surrounding some teams at this moment in time, and the ongoing difficulties which Covid-19 has brought about.

The Executive also accept that in learning to live with Covid the future remains uncertain in terms of future lockdowns, possible tiered systems, and government fluctuating advice.

The principal job for the Executive is to help skittles back safely, build confidence, and ensure teams are able to play once more.

The decision was taken that although the Number of players in a Cheltenham Skittle League Team should remain at 12, Executive will alter the rules so that

teams with at least 10 registered players cancontinue in the league.


Introducing the following amendment will enable most of our teams to return for the new season.

Addition to the existing RULE E 2 : Covid 19 amendment

(To be reviewed at the end of the 2021-2022 season)


Team Captains to declare the number of players they are fielding prior to the start of the game.

A team who can only field 10 players may nominate two from the four lowest scoring players to play for the second time.
